Reopening an under-threat retail sector saving thousands of jobs

The Horticultural Trades Association (HTA), representing the UK’s garden centres, enlisted our help to reopen garden centres amidst the easing of restrictions during the Covid pandemic. We put HTA members at the heart of our campaign, creating credible spokespeople whose voices would be heard by government, and leveraging celebrity gardeners for added exposure. We provided influential MPs across the UK, and MSPs, with the essential evidence they needed to convince ministers. As a result, garden centres across the country were the only retail sector to reopen as the first wave of restrictions eased – representing a £50m lifeline for British growers.
